The omission of a topic element when its reference is sufficiently clear from the conversation or situation. Shared context can replace a visible part of the sentence and render its absence comprehensible.
Example
“Already taken care of” can be fully understood in conversation without the spoken “I” or “it.”

An interrupted, incomprehensible sentence is not automatically a topic drop.
